Holiday week

I'm actually working this week, but it's been manageable so far. The new year is coming up quickly now, no real plans for New Years Eve, possible salsa dancing.

Photography..been on the back burner but will be picking that up again. I have a bunch of people that i've asked to allow me to take pictures of them, January will be very busy in that area. I think by the end of March i'll have a new camera and will be trying to sell some photos, I really think I'll be successful in this venture. The next MasterMind meeting is tentatively set for January 18 also.

24 starts in a few weeks!!!

My back has been killing me, I think it's spasms..we'll see.

Happy Holidays

Busy busy busy...i'm sure most everyone really is this time of year, i'm no exception.

Christmas parties, salsa dancing, shopping....and injuries? Lol, it's been a crazy week that way. After the studio party on Tuesday the 19th, my ankle was swollen and very sore, then my back went out...it's been fun..not bad though, i'm getting both injuries treated today.

Thursday was the first MasterMind meeting here at my place, FINALLY! It's seems like forever since I first mentioned having this. Nick, Eric and John came by, we went for pizza at Sheilds, then got into a good length discussion about ebook websites and stocks. It lasted quite a while actually, also John brought over som Mojito mix also...GREAT idea. We made an action item to keep us moving forward along with making a few other decisions that will keep the vision in front of us. In so many words, the meeting was better than I thought it was going to be.

Damn, laptop is dusty....time to go clean it.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Mid-week happenings..

Lots going on these days. Holidays, busy at work, studying at home.

Had a teleconference tonight, it was pretty good. Dealt with multiple sources of income. That's definitely what is needed these days. Two income households along with side business', it doesn't end. One quote that I really enjoy reading over and over...actually 2 quotes, both are from Dan Kennedy. The first one reads "Money rarely rewards wimps.", the other says "You always win when you say no to fear.". Both are short and to the point...motivational.

I'm starting to really get the bug to buy a digital SLR camera. I currently have a Canon Powershot s45. I've had it for 3 1/2 years and it has been absolutely great for me. I've dropped it so many time, it has dents....but it still shoots great pictures. I love that it takes 3 minutes of video, it's been great to help record salsa lessons and such. Being that i'm going to become more serious about photography now, I believe I need a camera that will take sharper pictures, ones that I can sell. I'm currenlty looking at the Canon Rebel XT or XTi. From talking to a few people and my experience with my current Canon, I want to stay in the Canon family.

The Red Wings game is on, losing 3-2 with 3 minutes left..doesn't look good but it's been a fast entertaining game.

I'll end this post with two words..

FIRE MILLEN!!

Whew!

It was a busy weekend. Friday was bday and then salsa dancing. Saturday was a Christmas party with the 'canoe people'. Today I had a memorial for my step-grandfather. He was going to be 95 on Christmas Eve, he had quite a life. There will be another memorial up in Quebec in July or August. You'll see a picture of what the lake looks like while standing at the end of the dock. The lake is 1 mile wide 90 miles long, glacier cut from thousands of years ago, simply beautiful.

This is going to be a big week for photography. I get my next set of lessons, plus i'll be taking pictures of my niece and nephew next weekend. I've really become a huge fan of black and white photos, I think a year from now I'll be able to take some really good b&w pics. I'm excited for 2007 and getting better with photos, hopefully sell a few also.

Christmas is two weeks away..

Date set

Two weeks from tonight will be our first 'Mastermind Meeting'. I'm anxiously waiting for it to happen, I think that with the people I invited it will be very productive. I've found people to create the website, write articles if needed, off to a good start.

My next set of photography lessons should arrive tomorrow. I still haven't sent off my pictures to be evaluated from the last months lessons :). This Saturday i'm taking pictures of my niece and nephew for a photo contest. I need to remember to be patient when taking these pictures. The kids are 3 and 1 year old, could be interesting, lol.

It's been a long week talking about and listening to shows about the BCS. I don't believe Michigan got 'screwed', although I FIRMLY believe they would be beat Florida in a head to head matchup, but we'll never find out.

I'm currently watching the Japanese horror film 'One Missed Call 2', it's pretty good. Horror movies have really taken a turn for the...hmmmm, wicked?? Saw III was actually really good, the story through all the films has flowed quite well, the writers should be credited with that.

I've kept up with my cardio exercises pretty good over the past two weeks, lots of stationary bike work. I would imagine i'll have to change up every month, but I credit my ipod shuffle with helping my improvement and consistency.

The next few days are quite busy......

The cold is here, the Christmas tree is up. Thanks to my niece my place is clean and she also helped put up my tree. It's winter time!!

I need to learn to take my time taking photographs. I took pictures of my niece by the tree, noticed cords from my modem and laptop on the floor, plus the Frosty I have was facing the wrong way. This is going to be my issue with photography it seems, being patient and paying attention to details. It can be done. Tomorrow will be a study day along with exercise, it'll be a good day.

Michigan was screwed by the BCS, although...Florida does deserve to go, anyway....GO BLUE!!

2nd day of cardio plus the salsa club in a little while...

64 degrees here in Detroit on November 30th, however on Friday the cold is coming..fast and hard..along with heavy snow..oh well, it's winter. Seems as though Christmas is going to be next week after being bombarded with the Christmas movies, shows, lights all over the place, commercials, parties...it's not even December!! I'm tired of the friggin' Zales commercial with that song!!!!

Always move forward

I've been sleeping really well lately, which I think has helped with my mood lately. One piece of advice I give people when asked..or I give voluntarily :), is that it's very important to get good rest, remember that..

Looked at SLR cameras online today. My friend Dana is also involved with photography, she mentioned how she liked Canon cameras, one of which I currently own. I will need to upgrade eventually, possibly in the next few months. I'm looking forward to improving my photography skills before the Aruba trip. Thank god for digital cameras, saves so much money on film and processing.

Went for a run tonight, used my new IPOD Shuffle for the first time. Using the IPOD definitely helped during the run. I need to be more consistent in my exercising, meaning in how often I actually do it. Eventually I'll be pushing to improve my time.

Anyway, back to studying..

New Happenings

It's been quite a while since i've updated my blog. I've been to New York and Toronto for salsa congress weekends in the past few months. Toronto was by the far the better of the two. Pretty much every girl I asked to dance could follow my lead, it was incredible. I took that trip with David and Renee. They both were great to travel with. I even ordered the dvd, I should be getting that in December. New York was fun mostly because it was New York. I traveled there with my Yasko and Huessein, both of them are fantasic down to earth people that were great to travel with also. Our hotel was a block away from Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. Times Square was 10 minute walk from the hotel also. We got lucky because the weekend we were there (Labor Day Weekend), on that sunday was Brazilian day. Lots of good music along with thousands of people turned 6th ave into 'Brazil for a day.' I was a little dissapointed that I didn't hear any Samba music or see any dancers, it was quite a specatacle w/o those two aspects though.

In my never ending search to make extra cash, I found a program that will help me take better pictures then turn around and sell them. The first set of lessons were very helpful and I already feel as though i'm a better photographer because of them. I still need to take a few more pictures to be sent in to be critiqued. My buddy David allowed me to take a ton of photos of him last week. He's been through them before both as the subject and directing the person being shot. He had about 10 outfits for the shoot, what a pro! A lot of the shots turned out really well, overall it went much better than I thought it would. I really learned a lot and am grateful for the experience.

Last week was a bad one for the family. My niece Nicki went into the hospital with a cyst on her ovary, she's only 17. She had a scope done to remove it immediately, it was a success. Such a success she was home that same day actually. She's recovering well and plans to be over my place this weekend to help me put up my Christmas tree which she loves to do every year. However and on a very sad note, my step-Grandfather passed away on Friday the 24th, he was 95. I'm telling you, up 'til a few years ago he could still kick most of our asses, he was a great human being, i'll miss him.

Well, it's the holiday season, how ever you wouldn't know it, it's 12:09 est time on Nov 28th and it's 55 degrees here in the Detroit area!!

I'm glad to be back posting...

TMII Marketing - We're in Official Pre-Launch!!

What a week it's been in the World Cup. The semi-finals are all set now with only European teams left. Thankfully one of them is a team that hasn't won yet. Since the beginning of the tournament my pick was Holland. I thought they had the strength from front to back, however they faltered in the round of 16. The only country left that hasn't won is Portugal. So I say...VIVA PORTUGAL!!!

This week it was announced that a company that i'm a part is announcing a breakthough way to become agent, I invite everyone to go and checkout a website and then fill out the contact information if you're interested. Or, if you'd like send me an email at glhyska@yahoo.com.

Made Big Online Marketing

Summer brings daily activities more often than a teacher creates lesson plans, especially in the summer.

I'm very proud of my nephew J.R., his graduation party was this past saturday, a good time was had by all. My stepsister allowed the party to be at her house which was awfully nice of her. She has a pool and a jacuzzi, makes it fun for everyone. My friend/work colleague Gordon got married and saturday also. He's chinese along with his wife, it was quite a wedding, the food was incredible!! It was 10 course meal, about %70 of it was seafood. Quite interesting was something that happened after dinner. The groom stood on a chair, the bride was blindfolded. She had a regular sized egg in her hand, we all were confused, none of us had seen this before. So begins the fun! Her mission was to start with the left leg, she put the egg under the pant leg, had to roll it up...remember she's blindfolded. So she rolls it up the left leg, then over his waist, then down the right. The crowd went nuts!! As humans we always like to see something new and that was definitely new.

Give it a look and let me know what you think, by sending an email to glhyska@yahoo.com.

New Champion!

Unbelieveable game 7 of The Stanley Cup finals tonight. Congratulations to the Carolina Hurricanes for winning their first Stanley Cup. I was rooting for Edmonton however, they should be very proud of what they accomplished no doubt, they beat my Red Wings for crying out loud!

Moving on to brighter and more prosperous things. It's times like these where I get excited just like i'm sure most of you do, you know, when you start something new. In my case it's a blog. A lot of you experienced what it was like to start a blog, staring at a white screen, wondering what thoughts will come into mind in hopes that people will come read what you've worked so hard on writing. I've learned already that one shouldn't think about what to write, and should just write. I'll make mistakes i'm sure, but i'm confident this journey will help me grow in a lot ways.

How many of you have done some online shopping in the past? Quite a bit i'm sure. Statistics show a lot of us that are online are doing so for two reasons, information and shopping. I bought my first online product only about 3 years ago, a little bit late in the fray. Since then i've bought quite a few items online, and have really enjoyed the experience. I know a lot of people are still skeptical about using their credit card or entering their bank information online, nothing is ever truly safe it seems though whether you purchase online or at a store, identities are stolen all the time. This shouldn't make one scared in shopping though, it's important to you, the person who runs the store, and the economy! We forget that everyday things we do effect the entire economy, you may think it's a small percentage, and in reality it is. The truth is though our daily decisions effect the economy, give that some thought.

I'll close this entry by encouraging you to pay attention and watch the World Cup when you can. The U.S. has a huge game this Thursday at 10 a.m. eastern time, watch it!!!

Ahhh, so this is a blog. I'll need to get rid of the 'rookie' tag quickly, no one likes that label. I'm going to enjoy this, no question about it.
