2nd day of cardio plus the salsa club in a little while...

64 degrees here in Detroit on November 30th, however on Friday the cold is coming..fast and hard..along with heavy snow..oh well, it's winter. Seems as though Christmas is going to be next week after being bombarded with the Christmas movies, shows, lights all over the place, commercials, parties...it's not even December!! I'm tired of the friggin' Zales commercial with that song!!!!

Always move forward

I've been sleeping really well lately, which I think has helped with my mood lately. One piece of advice I give people when asked..or I give voluntarily :), is that it's very important to get good rest, remember that..

Looked at SLR cameras online today. My friend Dana is also involved with photography, she mentioned how she liked Canon cameras, one of which I currently own. I will need to upgrade eventually, possibly in the next few months. I'm looking forward to improving my photography skills before the Aruba trip. Thank god for digital cameras, saves so much money on film and processing.

Went for a run tonight, used my new IPOD Shuffle for the first time. Using the IPOD definitely helped during the run. I need to be more consistent in my exercising, meaning in how often I actually do it. Eventually I'll be pushing to improve my time.

Anyway, back to studying..

New Happenings

It's been quite a while since i've updated my blog. I've been to New York and Toronto for salsa congress weekends in the past few months. Toronto was by the far the better of the two. Pretty much every girl I asked to dance could follow my lead, it was incredible. I took that trip with David and Renee. They both were great to travel with. I even ordered the dvd, I should be getting that in December. New York was fun mostly because it was New York. I traveled there with my Yasko and Huessein, both of them are fantasic down to earth people that were great to travel with also. Our hotel was a block away from Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. Times Square was 10 minute walk from the hotel also. We got lucky because the weekend we were there (Labor Day Weekend), on that sunday was Brazilian day. Lots of good music along with thousands of people turned 6th ave into 'Brazil for a day.' I was a little dissapointed that I didn't hear any Samba music or see any dancers, it was quite a specatacle w/o those two aspects though.

In my never ending search to make extra cash, I found a program that will help me take better pictures then turn around and sell them. The first set of lessons were very helpful and I already feel as though i'm a better photographer because of them. I still need to take a few more pictures to be sent in to be critiqued. My buddy David allowed me to take a ton of photos of him last week. He's been through them before both as the subject and directing the person being shot. He had about 10 outfits for the shoot, what a pro! A lot of the shots turned out really well, overall it went much better than I thought it would. I really learned a lot and am grateful for the experience.

Last week was a bad one for the family. My niece Nicki went into the hospital with a cyst on her ovary, she's only 17. She had a scope done to remove it immediately, it was a success. Such a success she was home that same day actually. She's recovering well and plans to be over my place this weekend to help me put up my Christmas tree which she loves to do every year. However and on a very sad note, my step-Grandfather passed away on Friday the 24th, he was 95. I'm telling you, up 'til a few years ago he could still kick most of our asses, he was a great human being, i'll miss him.

Well, it's the holiday season, how ever you wouldn't know it, it's 12:09 est time on Nov 28th and it's 55 degrees here in the Detroit area!!

I'm glad to be back posting...
