Detroit Sports Weekend

Wow, what a weekend for sports here in Detroit this weekend. The Wings won yesterday to tie their series at 1-1 with San Jose. They came back from a goal down to win, good stuff. The Pistons swept the Orlando Magic to move on to the next round. They'll play the Chicago Bull who swept the defending champion Miami Heat..... they get to play Big Ben!!! The Lions drafted Calvin Johnson with the 2nd pick in the NFL draft yesterday, the rest of the Lions draft seemed so so, but you never know! The Tigers had a rough weekend, but won today on a walk of home run by Brandon Inge in the botton of the 9th. So far the pitching hasn't been as good as last year, but they will be formiddable throughout the year, this team is for real. Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski did a great job in assembling this team, thank you Dave! Now, can you pass along some words of advice to Matt Millen?

Last night I had my performance with Candice at the studio, this one was MUCH better than our first. Candice is a great partner, she has the athletcism, looks and talent to be a great dancer, i'm lucky to have her as a partner.

Last, but certainly not least...tomorrow is the viewing for my grandmother, Mary Fuerst. All of the family are in town now, the viewing begins at 1:30. It was an emotional couple of days for sure.

Sweet Dreams Nana

Tonight i'll be performing with Candice again. We practiced really hard this morning, i'm quite confident that we'll do very well.

I met with an internet coach this week. The advice he gave me for what I would need to do was very helpful, I now need to make a decision as to whether I want to continue with having a coach. Actually, I think I do. I have 4 strong ideas for money making websites, I want to have 2 of them up and running by the end of the year.

My grandmother on my mother's side passed away yesterday, she was 91. She wasn't doing too well in the past few week, we were expecting this was going to happen soon. Thanks Nana for bringing in to the my mother, her 3 sisters and brother. It's because of you that we have a very find, loving family, we'll all miss you.

New Salsa night

Invading the east side now...new Salsa night starts at Bartini's in Clinton Township tonight!

It begins

I started building a site tonight. It's ugly. It's horrible...but it's started.

A lot

Salsa music is so good, it's ridiculous.

I was looking at the pictures from our salsa event the other night, my friend Dana did a great job. I'm really looking forward to learning how to use the camera I bought. I have also purchased a few books recently now also to go along with the course lessons I receive on a monthly basis. It's going to be beneficial to have my own images on my site.

The calendar says it's Spring

Mother Nature says otherwise. On Saturday April 14th we had our Motor City Salseros salsa social at Troy Dance Studio...it SNOWED!! It made me nervous that it would hold people back from coming, but that wasn't the case, we had around 120 people, turned out really well. Even had a girl from Aruba that I know there, such a small world. Her and her partner and soon to be husband put on a performace, it was fantastic. If you are ever planning on going to Aruba, please check out Janice and Oslin at http://www.pachangaaruba.com.

I've been traning with Candice for the showcase recenlty. Overall I really don't care to perform, but i'm really enjoying practicing with her, she's come along so quickly. We practiced a lift tonight, I'll admit I was very nervous, but she's a former college cheerleader from Michigan State, she's a pro no doubt. We're even thinking of competing soon....shhhhhhhhh! ;-)

I have my idea for a website to see some ebooks and other media. I've completed my training on Dreamweaver, time to start making sites!!

Time also to work out more again too. Dancing with Yasko and Candice really helps, but I need to do more, and I will.

Finally!

I ordered my camera today! I'm getting a Canon XT Rebel, 2 lens' and a nice flash. Next week is going to be photography week for me, I get to catch up on all the lessons i've been recieving, definitely going to have a lot of fun with this.

We recieved fantastic news at the studio yesterday also. Elaine was able to secure sponsorhip to bring a Salsa Congress here to Detroit. It's going to be sometime in September of this year, not sure exactly when...or where yet, but it's going to be happening. Last night I sat with Elaine and David to get a list of names of performers and instructors that will be appearing, it's going to be a fantastic time for sure.

I began studying search engine optimization this week. I think it'll be important for a lot of future projects how this is needs to be done.

Was contacted by a high school friend this week concerning our 20 year reunion. I'll be helping a little with that now too, what a year this is turning out to be.

Can I have that camera today please???

Staying Focused

Winter is giving us more than we can bargain for temperature wise now. Up until the middle of the January temps were in the 40's, 50's even! Wind chill today is below zero. We haven't recieved the snow that we normally do, but this is COLD!!!

Work is still quite busy but is getting easier to bear. I have a lot to do this week, hopefully i'll really catch up and start on some new projects.

I'm more determined than ever to try and find out how to market online. Reading, studying and searching for more products and tools has consumed this week. We had a Mastermind group meeting this week, as always the conversation was spirited. More ideas were brought to the table, I can't wait to report here about when we're ready to launch a product.

A desire to learn more about photography has risen as well. My next set of lessons are on their way. I think by summer i'll be ready to start searching for projects.

Next Saturday February 10th is our second salsa social. We think the success of the first one will help out, but as a group we need to keep on working hard and make sure that everyone who shows up has a GREAT time.

Dinner tonight at BAHAMA BREEZE!!!! First time in almost a year!

Super Bowl XLI:

Indianapolis - 29

Chicago - 34

How to overwhelm anyone...

Yeah, it's a goofy title, but it's a true statement of how I feel these days, and it's my own fault. Something i'd like to say is that because of this feeling, i'm really energized, it's true!!

These past few days I've been concentrating on the business I hope to create this year. Energy for research has picked up and my mood changed (for the better) when I bought fish oil on Wednesday and started taking that again. I researched fish oil about 18 months ago, what I found was that it's almost like Prozac! LOL. Anyway, check it out when you get time. Fish oil is beneficial for your heart, skin and joints. Other areas as well, seriously, check it out.

We didn't have our meeting the other day, I ended up having to work late. I felt bad because I know the guys are getting antsy about getting a website up. Our plans are moving forward however, I believe that's the most important aspect.

The price on the camera I want to buy has gone down! Patience definitely helps sometimes. I'm quite anxious to start a serious attempt at being a free lance photographer.

Marketing!!!

I've begun learning more about online marketing...again, lol. We have our meeting coming up on Thursday, i'm really looking forward to that.

Trying a new font tonight as well, let's see how I like it.

It's cold now

Winter has surely arrived now. The highs are now only in the mid 20's everyday, a little snow but nothing that can't be handled.

Today was a lazy day. I may be trying to take on too much. Concentrating on one thing at a time might be the way to go. Photography and our internet business are what I'd have to decide between. I don't know, I still think I can do both. What I really have to make a decision on is Aruba...that's a hard one, I may not go. This Thursday we'll pick a product, Nick also mentioned we should choose a name for our group (company?.

Work is busy, but it's been good.

Moving forward again

I miss you Kaylee.

A small break came my way yesterday. A friend owes me some money from a previous project we had worked on together, he mentioned he's going to pay up some of it this week. This will work out great because I still may go to Aruba plus i'll be buying a new camera soon. Photography has taken too much of a step backward over the past month, but I still want to become a freelance photographer, I believe i'll be pretty good once I get the new camera, learn the techniques from the lessons I've been recieving and apply them. 2007 is going to be fun.

This Thursday we're having another Mastermind meeting to choose our product. We're on schedule I believe to launch it April 1st. I believe with the guys I'm working with this venture will benefit all of us. We'll make mistakes together, but we'll get better at what we're doing and become successful.

We had a meeting with the board of the Motor City Salseros the other day. Again it was productive, we have a great group of people. We're going to have our logo by Wednesday this week, i'll post it here when it's chosen. We have some pretty nice suprises coming up for the future socials. The Chicago Salsa Congress is approaching, that should be a great weekend.

Lots to come this week.

Goodbye my Rodeo Angel

I'm going to keep this short..

A girl contacted me on MySpace a little while that had an interest in salsa. To keep this short, i'm going to say is that she touched my heart so much so quickly. Today on Yahoo messanger we were chatting, she then mentioned that she had to leave to help some new ranch hands (she worked on a million acre ranch) with some bulls that got loose. She said she had to go and we'd talk later...no biggie...

Tonight I got a message from her boss that said while helping out the other ranch hands, a bull came from behind and stabbed her in the back, Kaylee passed away a little while later, she was only 25 years old. She was the absolute sweetest person I'd met in years...I'm going to miss her so much..

Sweet dreams my Rodeo Angel...

Moving forward in 2007

First post of the new year..been too long!!!

One word how I feel right now...WHEW!! This past saturday the 13th was the first salsa social the Motor City Salseros created and put on. This came about during the holidays when a bunch of people I salsa with were at a party on a Saturday night, we've said it together a bunch times that we needed a place to dance on a Saturday. So I brought up to my friend Elaine who owns Troy Dance Studio that she should have a salsa night. Elaine has been in business for a long time and I should've known that she won't do anything half ass, lol. She said she'd rather have a full salsa social, we agreed. She then said to get a committee together...I was voted President...oh boy! The name of the committee is the Motor City Salseros. Elaine had used the name for a previous group she had at the studio. It was put to a vote and we decided to continue using that name. We completed the committee except for a Treasurer and started to plan for the evening.

We had my friend Dana come and take pictures of the studio, put them in an email and sent out an email to a list that Elaine has built over the past year. Let me tell you, the evening was fantastic!!! We had well over a 100 people, all this from less than two weeks of planning and promoting! There unfortunately was a d.j. issue in the middle of the week, Elaine and Mirza took care of it quickly and like I said, the evening was absolutely great. The people I worked with really pulled it off! It was a long night because the studio hosted a business networking party beforehand that went really well also. The night ended at 3:30 a.m., it was crazy...crazy good!! We have a lot of plans for future salsa socials, I think it'll work out really well.

Ever since I went to the New York and Toronto salsa congress' last year i've been wanting get involved more...and now I am. Next month is the Chicago congress, Feb 16-18. http://www.chicagosalsacongress.com

Our next social is Feb. 10, then also there's a showcase at the studio on the 24th..busy salsa month in Feb! If Sensuality comes to town..that'll really cap the month off...
